Biography

Kevin has called 51ÊÓÆµhome since 2014. He started as Dean of Technology and Visual Arts and quickly made a transformative impact as Vice President, International, Workforce Development and Partnerships, and Vice President, Academic. With immense pride, he became President and CEO on June 20, 2022.

An ally,  changemaker and people-centred leader, Kevin champions an inclusive teaching, learning and working environment where authenticity is embraced, diverse voices are amplified, and people feel a true sense of belonging. He’s actively committed to advancing Truth and Reconciliation – reflected in many initiatives undertaken since becoming president, including revising our Coat of Arms to incorporate Indigenous elements.

Known for his highly collaborative approach, Kevin has built and strengthened employer, industry, government and global partnerships to drive solutions to complex challenges and ensure a robust talent pipeline for Ontario and well beyond. He, along with our dedicated Board of Governors, led the development of Georgian’s bold strategy Game-Changing Innovation: Flourishing Students. Thriving Communities, positioning the college to expand our influence as a recognized leader in immersive, career-focused education, unrivaled experiences and catalyst for meaningful change.

He was instrumental in extensive advocacy and fundraising that resulted in the opening of the Peter B. Moore Advanced Technology Centre at the Barrie Campus, Nursing and Wellness wing in Owen Sound and transformations to the Sadlon Centre for Health, Wellness and Sciences in Barrie. These learning spaces directly address current and anticipated employer needs and are fueling economic growth in Central Ontario and beyond.

Kevin supported the significant expansion of Georgian’s applied research, entrepreneurship and scholarship activity. Today, we’re one of Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges. With a steadfast focus on being responsive to evolving labour needs, Kevin also continues to initiate and oversee the development and launch of market-driven programs and modification of existing ones.

Fully invested in the betterment of our sector and regions we serve, he participates in many community and sector-wide provincial and national committees. Kevin is also an active volunteer, lending his expertise and strategic counsel on various boards of directors.​​​​​​​

Previously, he held increasing roles of responsibility at other postsecondary institutions and gained direct insight into the student experience as a professor and program coordinator. In addition, he worked in software product management roles and as a spatial analyst. Kevin holds a Master of Science in GIS/Spatial Modeling, Honours Bachelor of Arts in Geography, and postgraduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems.
