Student Semester Exchange Programs

Seize the opportunity to embark on an educational excursion abroad through our exchange program with partner schools worldwide! By participating in this program, you’ll gain a competitive edge in your future career, develop invaluable global competency skills, and immerse yourself in international life, study, and work experiences (where applicable).

To qualify for the exchange, you need to:

  • Maintain full-time status with Georgian
  • Be in good academic standing at Georgian
  • Be eligible for international travels, if you choose an in-person experience
  • Complete the learning agreement
  • Work with your program area and the office of Mobility and Global Experience on selecting the partner and program that best align with your goals

Short-Term Mobility Programs

Each year, various Academic Areas and the Office of Mobility and Global Experience create and offer a variety of short-term programs to provide students with international experience, either virtual, in a blended format or fully in-person. In many situations, students will be able to earn direct credit for course learning outcomes or be recognized with co-curricular credit.

Guatemala 2025

Team Broken Earth Medical Mission (Open)

1 HBSN/HBNA student and
1 Student in DNAS or DNTH with Dental Assistant experience

Team Broken Earth will deliver vital medical care in Antigua, Guatemala where they face significant barriers to accessing healthcare. As student participant, you will join the team that includes physicians, RNs, RPNs, and dentists to be part of medical mission.


As a nursing student, you will join the team who will be performing 50- 60 orthopaedic and general surgeries over the course of 5 days of operating.


As a part of the dental team, you will work alongside volunteer dentists to treat approximately 60 to 80 patients. You will be responsible for tasks including assisting dentists during procedures including extractions, restorative and root canal procedures, ensuring the proper sterilization of dental instruments and equipment, helping with patient triage and documentation.

Summer Programs in Europe

51ÊÓÆµ has a number of partners across Europe who offer summer programs for students. Many of these programs are delivered in English! Explore the options below and contact us in the office of Mobility & Global Experience to estimate how much it may cost you and to help you with an application!

offers a broad range of opportunities for a summer semester abroad in the month of July. They have more than 20 different programs ranging from 1-4 weeks in both English and Spanish.

has programs directed at students with experience and interest in drawing, animation and visual story telling skills. Deadline to apply for the opportunities is May 1, 2025.

is offering a Sustainable Marketing program from August 3 to August 16. The program is offered entirely in English. Deadline to apply for this is April 15, 2025.

is offering an innovative and inspiring 5-day European Summer School programme, at their Leuven campus. The program is offered from August 25 to August 29, 2025. Deadline to apply for this is June 1, 2025.

Mobility funding

The (GSO) program opens doors for Canadian students to engage in enriching international experiences by providing essential funding support. This initiative recognizes the diverse needs of students and encourages those who may face financial barriers, have disabilities or identify with indigenous backgrounds to apply.

The GSO project is committed to fostering inclusivity, ensuring that all students, regardless of their circumstances, have the opportunity to broaden their horizons through inspiring global programming.

This funding is available to both full time and part time students.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Abroad

Most programs at 51ÊÓÆµ include a component of WIL that is required to meet graduation requirements. If you are interested in exploring opportunities (paid or unpaid), please contact your Program Coordinator or Co-Op Consultant to explore any existing opportunities that may be in place.

Fortunately, to assist you in getting started, the Canadian government has made it easier for Canadian students to find co-op and placement opportunities abroad through .

Go International

GO International is a designated Recognized Organization of the Government of Canada’sÌý±è°ù´Ç²µ°ù²¹³¾.

GO International works with partner organizations around the world to deliver highly recognized work and travel, teaching English and Internship abroad programs. By participating in our programs, students and young people are able to develop the skills they need to live effectively in a global and culturally diverse world. Health insurance

Health insurance for students going abroad is provided through a company called .

This insurance coverage is for emergency health conditions as well as illnesses and conditions (flu, sore throat, rash, etc.) that start after your insurance coverage begins. The plan does not cover pre-existing conditions.
